Designing Your Piece

How does the design process work?

We begin with your idea—whether fully formed or just inspiration. From there, we create a custom design, refine it with you (up to two revisions), and provide a detailed quote before moving into production.

What is the typical price range for a custom piece?

Pricing varies based on design, materials, and stone selection. After your design is finalized, we provide a clear, detailed quote before any production begins.

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

Not at all. Many clients come to us with a general concept or a few reference images. We guide you through the design process and help shape your vision into a finished piece.

How long does the process take?

Design and development typically takes 1–2 weeks, depending on revisions. Once approved, production generally takes 3–5 weeks. Timelines may vary slightly based on complexity and shop volume.

What if I change my mind about the design?

We refine each piece with you during the design phase, including up to two revisions to ensure everything feels exactly right before production begins. Once a design has been approved and production is underway, changes can no longer be made.

Can I use my own stone(s)?

Yes. You’re welcome to provide your own stone, or we can source one for you based on your preferences, budget, and design.

Can I receive production files to manufacture elsewhere?

We provide a preliminary design image along with your quote and service agreement as part of our design process. As a standard practice, production files (including STL files) are NOT included with initial design quotes.

If you would like to receive your production files, this can be arranged under a separate service agreement and additional fee. Please contact us directly at info@maisonlancon.com for further details.

Our Policies

International Customers

We support international orders for select countries. Clients are responsible for shipping costs, as well as any applicable duties or taxes. For availability or specific inquiries, please contact info@maisonlancon.com.

Ring Resizing

We offer one complementary ring resizing for our clients located in the US. This complementary sizing is valid within 100 days of delivery. Rings can only be sized up or down one size. If sizing requested exceeds one size, the stone(s) may need to be reset. We ask that you provide proof of insurance coverage before sending the ring for resizing.

Return Policy

As each piece is made to order, all sales are final and non-returnable. In the rare event that your piece arrives damaged or incorrect, it will be covered under our manufacturer warranty.

Limited Warranty

Maison Lançon provides a one (1) year limited warranty from the date of delivery on all completed pieces manufactured through its third-party partners. This warranty covers: material defects or workmanship issues, significant discrepancies between the final piece and the client-approved design, one (1) standard resizing, where applicable.

If a covered issue arises, Maison Lançon will coordinate repair or correction with its third-party manufacturer, including arranging expedited shipping where reasonably possible. This warranty does not cover: normal wear and tear, accidental damage, misuse, or improper care, third-party alterations or repairs, loss or theft, damage to client-supplied stones or materials.

All warranty claims must be submitted within the one (1) year period and may require inspection prior to approval. Maison Lançon’s responsibility under this warranty is limited to facilitating repair or correction through its manufacturing partners and does not guarantee specific timelines or outcomes.

Manufacturing Defects

Please contact our support team with a brief description of the issue, along with clear photos and a short video of the damage. From there, we will guide you through the next steps. You can also review our warranty policy for additional details.

Appraisals

Maison Lançon offers the option to include a detailed, in-house appraisal with your piece for an additional $150. This document provides an expert evaluation of authenticity and market value, establishing an appropriate replacement value for insurance purposes.

While many clients choose this service for convenience, you are equally welcome to arrange an appraisal independently if preferred. For those who elect to include it, each appraisal is conducted by qualified professionals and reflects the craftsmanship, materials, and fine details unique to your design—serving as both a record of your piece and a foundation for securing proper coverage.

Purity Stamps

These stamps are a requirement from the FTC. These show the quality or karat of the gold that was used.

Insuring

We recommend insuring your jewelry to protect both its financial and sentimental value. Using your appraisal, coverage can be easily arranged through specialized insurers such as Jewelers Mutual, with policies that typically include protection against loss, damage, and theft.

Insurance is a considered step in preserving your piece, allowing it to be worn and enjoyed with confidence. A well-structured policy ensures that your jewelry remains protected for years to come.
